Semanthie Brooks, ACSW, LISW

Ms. Brooks has been in a leadership role with the Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging since September 1993, serving four years as a Community Office Director, six years as Director of Clinical Operations, and since January 2004 as Director of Community Advocacy. As Director of Community Advocacy, she is responsible for community activities that support Benjamin Rose’s public policy plan to enhance services available to Benjamin Rose clients and other older adults and their care partners.
Ms. Brooks is an advisor and trainer for Medicare law. She completed training with the American Society on Aging, the National Committee to Preserve Medicare, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. To date, she has helped thousands of consumers and professionals to understand the Medicare prescription drug programs.
Ms. Brooks’ work history includes Children Services, MetroHealth Hospital, and Greenleaf Family Center of Akron. She has an undergraduate degree from Elmhurst College and a Master of Social Work degree from Washington University. In addition, Ms. Brooks has a postgraduate certificate in Life Span Development and Gerontology.
