Dr. Elliott is a skilled therapist, social worker, and nonprofit manager with experience in developing a wide variety of therapeutic programs and interventions for people from newborn to 103 years of age. During her 22 years at the Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging, Dr. Elliott expanded the therapeutic activities offered to older adults with cognitive and functional impairments at the Adult Day Program. She established a Partial Hospitalization Program that offers intense therapeutic group sessions to older adults with severe mental illness and expanded this program to include two sites on the East and West Sides of Cleveland. She engages in grant writing, and gives presentations on a variety of topics to professional organizations and groups throughout the community.

Dr. Elliott earned her PhD at Union Institute and University where she completed studies in psychospirituality, integrative medicine, and the expressive arts. She earned a Master's of Science Degree in Social Administration from Case Western Reserve University, Masters of Arts Degrees in Art Therapy and Ministry from Ursuline College, a certificate in nonprofit management from Case Western Reserve University, and a certificate in art from the Cleveland Institute of Art. Dr. Elliott is a Licensed Independent Social Work Supervisor, Board Certified Art Therapist, Licensed Secondary School Teacher, Certified Pastoral Minister, and Reiki Master Teacher. Dr. Elliott is currently completing certification as a spiritual director at the Ignatian Spirituality Institute at John Carroll University.

In her current position, Dr. Elliott leads the development and operation of the Benjamin Rose Education and Training Program. She identifies education training gaps and practices, develops curricula and training materials for conferences and workshops, and establishes partnerships and collaborates with other education and training institutions.

Dr. Elliott served as an adjunct faculty member at CWRU's Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences and taught courses and supervised graduate students from various colleges and universities. In addition, she has served on several boards, including the Board of Trustees of the Ohio Association of Adult Day Services and the Diocesan Pastoral Council, Ministry, and Mediation Boards of the Cleveland Catholic Diocese. Dr. Elliott was a founding member of the Shaker Heights Business Association and is currently a steering committee member of the Northeast Ohio Center for Creative Aging and a member of the Senior Advisory Board of the Western Reserve Historical Society. Dr. Elliott also supervises and mentors graduate students from several universities.
