Adult Day Program
The Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging’s Adult Day Program is a PASSPORT—certified program designed to meet the needs of cognitively and functionally impaired older adults and to provide respite for caregivers. The Adult Day Program consists of structured, comprehensive, and continually supervised therapeutic and social activities that emphasize client choice and address the individualized needs of the older adults served.
Assessment- We work with the client, family/guardian and primary physician to develop a plan of care that will meet the individual needs of the older adult within the program.
Respite for Caregivers- Sometimes caregivers need a break. When a client is actively attending the Adult Day Program, the caregiver is able to go to work, complete household tasks, engage in leisure activity, tend to other care recipients (such as children) or simply rest; knowing that their loved one is in a safe environment, enjoying activities, receiving nutritional meals and snacks and being cared for by trained caring staff.
Link to Services- Social Services Coordinator links clients and caregivers to services in the community by providing resource information that are relevant to their needs.
Therapeutic Person-centered and social activities- Participants engage in a wide variety of therapeutic and social activities that are structured, comprehensive and continually supervised. Activities that emphasize client choice and address the individualized needs of the people served.
nutritious meals snacks- Meals and snacks including, a continental breakfast, a complete hot lunch and an afternoon snack are provided and prepared under the guidelines of the Ohio Department of Education's Child and Adult Food Program.
Transportation Services- Transportation Services are provided to and from the program in vehicles that are adequate for older adults with cognitive and functional impairments. The vehicles are Wheelchair accessible, inspected daily, receive regular maintenance and are operated by highly qualified drivers.
