Ethical Dilemmas in clinical practice and supervision

Ethical dilemmas pervade modern life and complicate the decision-making process for clinicians and their supervisors. This conference consists of two interrelated sessions. The first session analyzes the nature of ethical dilemmas, examines specific ethical dilemmas and reasons in favor of and opposed to possible courses of action, and reviews sound decision-making procedures. The second session focuses on the unique ethical dilemmas faced by supervisors. It exhorts supervisors to view ethical concerns as an integral part of the helping relationships, and it emphasizes that ethical dilemmas can facilitate the supervisory process and provide valuable opportunities for personal insight and professional growth.
