Annual Caregiving Conference: Navigating Virtual Caregiving

Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging invites you to attend our Annual Caregiving Conference on Thursday, December 10, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This year's conference, sponsored by Northeast Ohio Medical University and the Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP) will focus on virtual caregiving and service delivery and will be held via Zoom Video Conference.
The full-day conference will explore best practices in the delivery of virtual programs and provide caregiving resources to support individuals living with dementia and their family caregivers. Topics discussed include: best practices for virtual programming, virtual evidence-based programs, and delivering community-based resources in a virtual world. The afternoon of the conference will be interactive and will provide attendees with an inter-professional simulation training opportunity, developed through the Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program.
There is no cost to attend the webinar.

Christine Gould, PhD, ABPP-gero
Associate Director for Education and Evaluation, Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center, VA Palo Alto Health Care System
Christine Gould, Ph.D., ABPP, is a board-certified geropsychologist and Associate Director of Education and Evaluation at the Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinical Center (GRECC) within the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. She also is a Clinical Assistant Professor (affiliated) in the Stanford University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Her research focuses on helping older adults use technology-delivered interventions including video interventions, internet interventions, and mobile apps. She has received funding from the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation, VA Rehabilitation Research and Development Service, VHA Geriatrics and Extended Care Services, and Meru Health.
Jan Lindsay, PhD
Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Baylor College of Medicine, Core Investigator, SC MIRECC and IQuEST, Psychologist, Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center
Dr. Jan Lindsay is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine and a licensed psychologist at the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center (MEDVAMC). She is a Core Investigator and health services researcher at the Center for Innovations in Quality, Effectiveness, and Safety (IQUeSt) and the Director for Telebehavioral Health at the South Central Mental Illness Research, Education, and Clinical Center (MIRECC). Dr. Lindsay leads a grant-funded, interdisciplinary team that implements and evaluates technology-based mental health interventions, including video-to-home telehealth and integrating web-based programs into remotely-delivered care. Her clinical research interests include treatment of substance use disorders, HIV, and PTSD. Dr. Lindsay and her team focus on leveraging telehealth technology to increase access to mental health treatment and reduce health disparities.
