Behavioral Health Services from Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging can enhance the lives of individuals aged 55 and older with mental illness by providing holistic mental health care, which will enable them to continue living in their homes or in the most comfortable environment to them.
If you are working with an individual with a mental or emotional problem, we can help. With our assistance, older adults will be empowered to manage problems such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and hoarding disorder.
Our trained intake specialist will provide a comprehensive assessment to help you determine the most appropriate behavioral health treatment, or other services from Benjamin Rose, that address participants individual needs. During the intake process, payment options will be discussed, including approved insurance providers, such as Medicare and Medicaid plans.
We are a member of the Mental Health & Addiction Advocacy Coalition (MHAC) and The Ohio Council of Behavioral Health & Family Services Providers, both of which support advocacy for older adults mental health needs on a local and state level. We are also a member and co-chair of the Hoarding Connection of Cuyahoga County, and are a contract agency of the Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services (ADAMHS) Board of Cuyahoga County.
We have received accreditation through CARF and are certified by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) to provide the following behavioral health services and activities:
Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS)
These one-on-one intensive short-term services help enable older adults with mental illness to continue to live in their home or in a comfortable environment to them.
Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment (CPST)
Our CPST services support a partnership between an older adult and their Benjamin Rose case manager helping to develop a person-centered treatment plan which will assist them in managing their mental health conditions. We will collaborate with you in assisting the older adults you work with in making connections to psychiatric and medical care, housing and other entitlements which will help improve their quality of life and independence. As a part of the treatment plan, a case manager will evaluate the older adult’s progress, and work with you regarding the length of treatment.
Our one-on-one counseling sessions provide support from licensed social workers to individuals who are experiencing increased stress due to concerns such as chronic illness, trauma, grief, loss or relationship problems.
